Life Cycle Counter
The Diaphragm Pumps Life Cycle Counter is battery operated totaliser which can be used to monitor AODD (Air Operated Double Diaphragm) Pumps and AOPP (Air Operated Piston Pumps) For a variety of reasons.
How it Works
Compressed Air is Exhausted
When AOPP or AODD Pumps reach the end of their stroke, the compressed air is exhausted to allow movement in the opposite direction.
Monitor the Exhaust Pulses
By monitoring these exhaust pulses we can record the number of strokes taken. We adapt the exhaust port to send the air to a pressure switch which in turn connects to the counter registering the stroke.
Inlcude an Amplifier
Where pressures are low, we also include an amplifier. The battery life is predicted at 8 years and is not serviceable.
Operation
Once calibrated to match the exhausting air pressure the counter will record the pulses of air. We have successfully recorded strokes over 11 meters away from the pump, which can be helpful in ATEX environments or where the pump is inaccessible. The counter has a reset which can be disabled if required. Pulses can be recorded for a number of reasons including but not exclusively:-
-
Planned/Preventative Maintenance
-
Volumetric Liquid Measurement
-
Dry Running Detection
